Dr. Joshua Beckman is a Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Vascular Medicine, and Executive Clinical Director of Cardiovascular Services, all at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He holds the Gayle and Paul Stoffel Distinguished Chair. After earning his MD from New York University School of Medicine, he completed internal medical residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and postgraduate fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and vascular medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Dr. Beckman is an award-winning educator and former cardiovascular disease fellowship director, having won the W. Procter Harvey Young Teacher Award from the American College of Cardiology and Jess R. Young Outstanding Vascular Medicine Educator Award from the Society of Vascular Medicine.
Dr. Beckman's research focuses on mechanisms of vascular dysfunction, susceptibility to atherosclerosis, and peripheral artery disease. Dr. Beckman is the Chair of the ACC-AHA Joint Committee on Guidelines.
Dr. Beckman serves on The VIVA Foundation's Board of Directors.
