Dr. Sameh Sayfo is an interventional cardiologist who is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is also certified by the American Board of Vascular Medicine, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Dr. Sayfo specializes in the management of cardiovascular diseases and peripheral intervention. His areas of expertise include complex coronary and peripheral artery interventions, endovascular aortic repair (EVAR), carotid intervention, pulmonary embolism, and deep and superficial vein interventions. He also has expertise in structural heart disease, including atrial septal defect and patent foramen ovale closures, as well as and percutaneous treatment options for mitral and tricuspid valve disease. His focus is on treatment advancements in critical limb ischemia (CLI) management and radial to peripheral interventions.
Dr. Sayfo earned his medical degree at Damascus University, Syria, and completed his internal medicine residency at Indiana University, Bloomington. He then completed a cardiovascular fellowship at University of Louisville, KY, and an interventional cardiology fellowship at Brown University, Providence, RI. In 2020, he earned an MBA from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Active in clinical research, Dr. Sayfo has a special interest in cardiac and peripheral intervention studies. He has participated in more than 20 clinical trials as both PI and Sub-I and has published more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts. He has served as faculty at several post-graduate medical education meetings and has presented his research at several national and international conferences and symposia, including the annual meetings of the American College of Cardiology and Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT).
Dr. Sayfo is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions. He is also a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
