Dr. Madassery is an Associate Professor of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and Rush Oak Park Hospital. He is the Director of The Advanced Vascular & Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, the only one in the nation offering post fellowship focused complex IR training in PAD and research. Also, Dr. Madassery is the Director of Peripheral Vascular Interventions, The CLTI Limb Preservation Program and the IVC Filter Clinic at Rush. More recently, he became the Medical Director of Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Rush Oak Park Hospital.
Dr. Madassery received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science, and his Diagnostic Radiology residency and Vascular & Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center. He has been inducted as a Fellow of the Society of interventional Radiology (FSIR) and was recently inducted into the International Andreas Gruentzig Society (IAGS).
Dr. Madassery has authored and co-authored numerous articles, has given numerous grand rounds and educational presentations around the country & globally. He is on Leadership positions within the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), including standards and Practices Committee , former ECS Governing Council Chair, Organizing Committee fot the LEARN meeting, former Chair of the SIR PAD Specialty Council and current Scientific Chair of the SIR Annual Meeting Committee. Finally, he is a Reviewer for several peer reviewed Journals such as JVIR, JSV-CIT, Journal of CLI, Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine and is a Board member of the Alliance for Wound Care Stakeholders, in Washington, D.C.
Much of his practice is dedicated to Critical Limb Ischemia Revascularization and Limb Preservation. He published a multidisciplinary Comprehensive Limb Preservation Guidebook, entitled “Limb Preservation for the Vascular Specialist”, with over 60 co-authors collaboarating. Other interests include Complex IVC Filter Retrievals, Dialysis Interventions, Venous Reconstructions, and Interventional Oncology. He is an active primary wound care center provider as well, treating complex lower extremity wounds. He founded and Directs the Peripheral Vascular Trainees Lab (PVTL), which had its Inagural meeting in 2024. Most importantly, he is happily married, and father to two amazing children.
