Dr. Prakash Krishnan is a Professor of Cardiology and Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He serves as the System Director of Endovascular Services for the Mount Sinai Health System and Director of Endovascular Intervention at The Mount Sinai Hospital. An internationally recognized expert in peripheral artery disease (PAD), Dr. Krishnan specializes in minimally invasive endovascular therapies and has led the development of one of the most advanced PAD programs in the country, focusing on complex, inoperable cases and limb salvage.
Dr. Krishnan has served as principal investigator on more than 20 FDA clinical trials, including landmark studies such as ILLUMENATE and CROSS Seal. His research has contributed to the approval and widespread adoption of paclitaxel-coated balloon technology, significantly improving PAD treatment outcomes. His work has been published in top-tier medical journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, JACC, and Circulation.
He is the founder and course director of the New York Endovascular Summit, a premier educational event drawing international participation, and helped establish the SCAI Endovascular Fellows Course. Dr. Krishnan also performs monthly live case broadcasts via CCClivecases.org, reaching more than 25,000 global viewers yearly.
A dedicated educator, he directs the Diagnostic and Interventional Vascular Fellowship at Mount Sinai and has trained numerous endovascular specialists practicing worldwide. His contributions to research, education, and patient care have earned him multiple awards and honors from professional and community organizations.
