Co-Founder / MD
Bern Center for Vascular Medicine and Intervention, Vasc Alliance AG
Angiology
Bern, Switzerland
I was born and raised in Germany, 64 years ago. Throughout my medical training and early professional life, I gained clinical experience in several countries including Ireland, Germany, and the USA. These international exposures provided me with deep insights into diverse healthcare systems and significantly broadened my professional perspective.
For the past 36 years, I have been dedicated to the patient-centered healthcare system in Switzerland. After earning my medical degree from the Hannover Medical School in 1986, I relocated to Switzerland following my marriage to Prof. R. Baumgartner (†, Lucerne). Here, I completed my specialty training in Internal Medicine and Angiology and pursued an academic and clinical career at the University Hospitals of Zurich and Bern.
