Dr. Subhash Banerjee is the Paul J. Thomas Endowed Chair and Chief of Cardiovascular Research and Innovation at the Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital in Dallas, TX. He also serves as the Editor in Chief of the American Journal of Cardiology, one of the premier cardiology journals in the world.
Dr. Banerjee is Professor and Vice Chief of Medicine for Research and Innovation at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He has served and continues to contribute to numerous national leadership roles, including the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Peripheral Vascular Disease Council and the Cardiovascular Guideline Peer Review Committee of both the ACC and the American Heart Association. He has also participated in National Institutes of Health (NIH) study sections. Additionally, Dr. Banerjee has served on the writing committees for the Appropriate Use Criteria for Peripheral Interventions developed by the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Society for Coronary Angiography and Interventions, helping shape standards of care in vascular medicine and intervention.
An internationally recognized expert and leader in his field, Dr. Banerjee specializes in minimally invasive coronary artery, peripheral artery, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedures. Dr. Banerjee has led many landmark clinical and translational research trials, and has been the recipient of AHA, NIH, Department of Veterans Affairs and Industry research grants. He has published over 500 peer-reviewed manuscripts and is faculty at major national and international scientific meetings. He has been the presenter of Late-Breaking Cardiovascular research studies.
