Dr. Britt H. Tonnessen has been a practicing vascular surgeon since 2006 and returned to academics in 2019 as an Associate Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine. She is co-author of The Handbook of Patient Care Vascular Diseases, a popular "pocket book” for students and residents. Her areas of clinical expertise include limb ischemia, venous thrombosis and thoracic outlet syndrome. She is the Associate Program Director for the Yale vascular surgery residency, and the Associate Director of Patient Experience for the Department of Surgery. Dr. Tonnessen finds the joy and fascination in vascular surgery every single day and strives to instill that enthusiasm into students and young surgeons.
