Dr. Miguel Montero-Baker is a board certified vascular surgeon. He specializes in both vascular and endovascular surgery with a special emphasis on diabetic foot complications, limb preservation and independent living.
Dr. Montero-Baker earned his medical degree from the University of Costa Rica in San José, Costa Rica. There, he also completed a vascular surgery residency at the San Juan de Dios Hospital. Moreover, he rounded his surgical training with a three year fellowship at the Leipzig Heart Center focusing on catheter-based therapies and lower-limb ultrasound. Lastly, he undertook an integrated vascular surgery residency position at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Shortly after, he became associate chief of vascular surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and Divisional chief at Houston Methodist. Recently, Dr. Montero-Baker has endeavored in an independent project to develop private multidisciplinary clinics aiming to provide value-based care through the HOPE Clinical Innovation Centers.
